How Do You Picture God? | Jesus Our Ransom Sacrifice | Did God pour out His Wrath on Jesus on the Cross? | More Answers to Come...

(Note: This article is Being Written Now, I haven't completed it yet.)

How Do You Picture God?
Do you see Him as Our Loving Heavenly Father?
Or an Angry God full of Wrath?

How does the Bible describe God the Father? The Apostle Paul said of God the Father, "Who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no human being has ever seen, nor is able to see." (1 Timothy 6:16) For as the Apostle John also said, "God is Light, and in him there is no darkness at all." (1 John 1:5) And the Apostle James said, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness, nor shadow of turning." (James 1:17) And Jesus said of His Heavenly Father, "God is Spirit, and those who worship him, must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24) And Wise King Solomon said of God, when he was dedicating the Temple he had built for God in Jerusalem, "Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house that I have built!" (1 Kings 8:27) "For in him we live, and move, and have our being," as the Apostle Paul said in Acts 17:28. This is God the Father in His natural Glory! "The King of the Ages, immortal, invisible, God who alone is wise, to Him belongs honor and glory into the ages of the ages. Indeed!" (1 Timothy 1:17)

Our View of God

Our view of God effects everything in our life.
And it effects how we
Interpret the Bible.

How do you see God?

Do you see God as a harsh Law Giver, who demands absolute pefection? Or do you see Him as a Loving Heavenly Father, whose personality can best be defined, as someone who is Like Jesus? Sad to say, most Christians have what could be termed as a somewhat "Schizophrenic View of God:" sometimes they see God as a Harsh Law Giver, and other times they see Him as a Loving Heavenly Father. But most Christians have a view of God that lies somewhere between these 2, because in their subconcuse they believe both of these views are true. And because of this sometimes they feel accepted by God, while other times they feel condemned. And that is why I would say most Christians have a Schizophrenic View of God.

But I would remind you of what the Apostle James said, "The one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. That person shouldn't even imagine that they will receive anything from the Lord: Being a double-minded man, unstable in all their ways." (James 1:6-8) For the Scripture says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for whoever comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:6) So if what you are doubting is: the very Charactor of God, how can you possibly hope to receive anything from the Lord?

So why is there so much confussion within the Body of Christ,
When it comes to the True Nature of God?

This confussion concerning the True Nature of God, basically comes from how people interpreate the Old Covenant (The Old Testament) in relation to the New Covenant (The New Testament). For the average person tends to see the God of the Old Testament as a Harsh Law Give, and Jesus in the New Testament as a Loving and Kind God. But Jesus said, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. So how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don't you believe that I’m in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak from myself; the Father who dwells in me does the works. Believe me: I’m in the Father and the Father is in me..."  (John 14:9-11) For "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; because God was with him." (Acts 10:38)  So in actuality when people saw Jesus showing compassion and healing people, they were actually seeing the Father showing compassion and healing people, for Jesus only did that which He saw the Father doing. So to understand the True Nature we need to look at His Son, because, "He fully expresses him." (John 1:18) "Because God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (2 Corinthians 4:6)

So where does this misconception of God as a Harsh Law Giver come from? It comes from Christians spending too much time reading the Old Testament, and too little time reading and seeking to understand the New Covenant.

Because most Bible reading plans have you read through the Old Testament and New Testament ONCE a year: but if you follow these reading plans; have to speedreading through multiple chapters of the Old Testament each day, and you are only reading a few verses in the New Testament a day, and this will give you an unbalanced view of God! Because as the Scripture says, "Even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil covers their heart. Nevertheless when someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. But we all, with unveiled face, seeing the reflection of the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the exact same image, from glory to glory, as from the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Corinthians 3:15-18) It is only through really understand the New Covenant that we will be able to Rightly Interpret the Old Testament, for God's Eternal Plan was HIDDEN in the Old Testament, until the Fullness of Time should come: "The secret mystery which has been hidden from the ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to his holy ones." (Colossians 1:26) "Now to him who has the power to establish you, according to my Good News and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the secret mystery which had been kept secret in past ages; but now has been revealed and made known through the prophetic Scriptures, according to the command of the eternal God, to advance the obedient hearing of faith among all the nations." (Romans 16:25-26) "Which in other generations was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to his holy apostles and prophets... And to enlighten everyone as to what is the administration of the secret mystery hidden from the ages by God, who created all things through Jesus Christ, So that the multifaceted wisdom of God might now be made known through the congregation to the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Ephesians 3:5, 9-11) It is only through fully understanding "God's Eternal Purpose" as Revealed to us in the New Testament, that we can understand what God was doing "Behind The Scenes" in the Old Testament.

Therefore instead of trying to "Speed Read" through the Entire Bible in a year, we should prayerfully and thoughtfully read through the New Testament as many TIMES as is possible in a year; and MAYBE read a chapter or two a day in the Old Testament, asking God to help us undertant what He was doing "Behind The Scenes" in the Old Testament, and what HIS ETERNAL PURPOSE was.

So with this in mind: Let's now (Through New Testament Revelation) look at Israel's 40 years in the widerness, the Old Covenant, and the Ten Commandments.

The Old Covenant & Ten Commandments
"A Sad Day For God!"

But to understand the Bible, one must remember that God is NEVER surprised! He NEVER reacts to a situation, but as He had purposed to do when that situation arises, so He does! For as the Scritures say, in a multitude of places, God has PERFECT FORSIGHT! Consider "the Battle of Gog and Magog" (the Final War of the World), which will be 1000 years after "the Battle of Armegetton!" Yet God showed the Apostle John the Final Out Come of that War nearly 2000 years ago, "And when the 1,000 years have expired, Satan will be loosed from his prison, and will go out to mislead the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and surrounded the camp of God's holy people, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and burning sulfur, where the wild animal and the false prophet are, and they will be tormented day and night throughout the ages of the ages." Revelation 20:7-10 (Notice all the verbs that are in "the past tense", that's because God saw it as though it had already happened.) "For a 1000 years

So with this in mind, let's go back in time, to Mt Sini, and the giving of the Ten Comandments: and with new insight into God's Eternal Perspective, see what actually happened on that day
